PRP Treatments & why everyone should be having this!

Updated: Aug 13, 2021

We are calling it!

PRP, which stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, or also referred to as the “vampire facial” is one of the most advanced and effective medical skincare treatments on the market.

This treatment is performed by a medical professional, so you can rest assured that you are in safe and highly experienced hands, with a highly trained professional. But alas, always ensure you do your research & double check that the clinician has completed training in the PRP Treatments.

The superpower of PRP is due to the following; human blood contains plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Platelets are microscopic cells with a lifespan of around 10 days that contain clotting and growth factors. During the body’s natural healing response, platelets are activated and aggregate together, and then release growth factors to restore and repair.

In simple terms, a PRP facial uses your own blood’s platelets and plasma on your face. The natural chemicals in your own PRP are slathered onto your face and then micro-needled into the skin during a short procedure. Once the plasma is in, it begins to do its work of rejuvenating your entire face, tightening wrinkled areas, and smoothing the overall look. It’s able to do that because PRP’s essential chemical components stimulate collagen growt

Along with PRP stimulating collagen and elastin production, it also aids in thickening and helps tighten thinning skin. Because it boosts collagen, it's also a great treatment for improving overall skin texture and tone.

What are the key advantages of PRP facials and why are they so popular?

  • They truly transform the look of your skin in positive ways

  • There’s no chance for an allergic reaction because the plasma comes from your own body

  • Pain and discomfort is minimal and the procedure is short, yet highly effective

  • It is a natural treatment as you are needling/injecting your own plasma

We are often asked if there is a specific age bracket for PRP treatments. This is another reason we love PRP so much, as it is suitable for all ages. From younger clients with problematic skin or acne scarring to older clients looking to rejuvenate their skin and appearance.

To gain the maximum results from PRP, it is highly recommended that you complete a course of 3-4 sessions. The best time frame is sticking to every 2-4 weeks per treatment, to gain maximum results. Then you will be placed on a maintenance treatment plan.

So many of our clients love that it is a natural alternative to filler and botox.

Along with having your plasma micro-needled into your face and décolletage, you also have the option of injecting your plasma into any areas of concern. Popular choices include around the eyes to reduce dark circles and on the cheeks and lips to add volume. PRP is also a great way to improve skin laxity on the neck and décolletage area.

PRP is one of our favourite treatments! Facenurse Sarah offers a complimentary skin consultation to address any skin concerns and to devise the best #getglowing treatment plan suited to your goals and budget.

This is the time to work towards your best self & get glowing 🌟
